Fortnightly Meetings

Multiple Games, multiple themes

Welcome to the Manx Wargames Group

The Manx Wargames Group has been bringing tabletop gamers together on the Isle of Man for around 35 years. For more than a quarter of a century, our regular Saturday evening meetings in Port Erin have been a fixture of the local gaming scene, offering a warm welcome to newcomers and long-standing members alike.

What We Play

We are not tied to any single ruleset or era. Our tables host a wide spectrum of historical, fantasy, science-fiction and science-fantasy games. Whether you are interested in ancient battles, Napoleonic campaigns, the world wars, or skirmishes among goblins, starships, or steampunk machines, there is a place for you at our sessions.

Alongside our miniatures games, we also enjoy the occasional board wargame, adding variety and new challenges to our gaming nights.

Our Ethos

The Manx Wargames Group is run as a not-for-profit organisation. Our focus has always been on providing an inclusive, friendly environment where players of all ages and backgrounds can come together, roll dice, and share in the fun of wargaming.

We take pride in being welcoming to both seasoned commanders and absolute beginners. If you are new to the hobby, our members are always happy to explain rules, lend figures, and help you learn the ropes.

Get Involved

If you are based on the Isle of Man and curious about tabletop wargaming, why not drop by one of our Saturday evening sessions in Port Erin? You will find a relaxed atmosphere, plenty of different games being played, and a group of enthusiasts keen to share the hobby.

To find out more about upcoming events and game nights, keep an eye on this website or our Facebook page.

Dice, miniatures, history, imagination—the Manx Wargames Group has been combining them all for over three decades. We look forward to welcoming you to the table.

Interests range from historical  (pretty much all genres and periods) to fantasy & science fiction. Gaming nights are normally held fortnightly and players take turns at putting on one of two or three games per night.

There is an annual fee for full and junior members with Group members donating tea and biscuits on the night.

Most gaming is tabletop using miniatures but board gaming does take place, often as reserve games.
